Melvin Myron King was born in Norwood,
NY on April 15, 1887. He was a roofing
contractor who had a tar covered, crank Ford Model T pickup which was alleged
to be the oldest continuously used truck.
He moved to Lowell with his mother in 1902. They were members of the
First United Baptist Church. Melvin
married Margaret Trainor. They had three children: Hazel, Alice and
Gordon. Melvin died in Lowell MA of
Acute Coronary Thrombosis on May 10, 1958, at the age of 71. |
