Carl Pitz, age 41, and wife Maria Latsch Pitz age 38, came to the United States from Dudweiler, Saarbrucken, Germany in 1881. They were accompanied by their three sons.
Carl (3-11-1867), Joseph (3-26-1869) and Ludwig (6-28-1872}. Carl became a citizen of the United States
in 1886 and after that was called Charles Pitz, His family settled in
Barberton, Ohio when he had purchases some land to farm. Maria Latsch Pitz
died in 1917. Charles Pitz died in
1925. They are buried in Lakewood Cemetery, Akron, Ohio. |
