David Kincaid Obituary

Former Anchorage resident David E. Kincaid, 40, of Hood River, Ore., died Feb. 27, 2007, at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital.
A service will be at 2.30 p.m. Thursday at The Three Rivers Grill, 601 Oak Street, Hood River, Ore.
David was born May 15, 1966, in Anchorage. He attended Burke Mountain Academy in Vermont, and continued his education at the University of Wyoming and the University of Alaska.
David worked for many years in the construction industry as a project manager and recently founded his own firm, DK Development Construction.
David met Heather Roth in Anchorage, where they were married. David and Heather lived in Seattle for 10 years, where they enjoyed work, life and each other, and had two children: Payton, 4, and Makenna, 2.
"The family moved to Hood River in September 2005 because of their passion for windsurfing," his family wrote.
"David was an accomplished athlete; he excelled at ski racing, cycling, soccer, hockey, running, climbing and windsurfing. He ski raced from early childhood, competing in Junior Olympics, USSA Nationals, NCAA (All American) and in the master's program (National Champion). In Alaska, he will be remembered for being a fierce competitor in the grueling endurance Arctic Man -- a combination ski/snowmachine race. David was a pioneer Turnagain Arm windsurfer; he surfed where the wind was wild. David will be remembered for his coaching and mentoring in all of his sport activities. Above all, David enjoyed being with his family."
David is survived by his wife, Heather; and their daughters; his parents Lorraine Kincaid and Richard Dunning of Anchorage, and Ralph David Kincaid and Mary Ellen Kincaid of Goldendale, Wash.; and his siblings residing in Anchorage: Katherine, Kristine, Mary Diane and Ted, as well as Karen and Alan Sweetman of Athens, Greece. Additionally, he will be greatly missed by his friends, his extended family, his business partners, clients and former employers.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to a scholarship fund for Payton and Makenna Kincaid at Bank of America account #485000473650, 115 Oak Street, Hood River, OR 97031.
Arrangements are with Anderson's Tribute Center.
