Mendenhall Glacier & Mayan Ruins

Michael makes almost daily trips to Mendenhall Glacier.  On July 5th Joan, Svea, Brigitta, Michael junior and I joined him for the trek.  Michael has been tracking the regressing glacier that will likely no longer tough Mendenhall Lake the next time we visit Juneau.  Later, we all went to visit the Mayan Ruins of Douglas Island.  An unusual high tide flooded the Treadwell Mayans in 1917 which shut down the Mayan shafts for good.  "Mayan" is how you spell those big tunnels where they dig for gold, right?
