House Addition We began the addition on our house in 2011 by tearing down the old porch, which had lots of problems. We had a new foundation poured at the same level as the rest of the house and had the 28 foot by 14 foot room framed and enclosed by winter. That same summer we discovered how bad the original roof was and added 3/4 inch plywood over the existing delaminating 5/8 plywood. By 2018 we had finished the addition, including a greenhouse and cupola.

The light for this room was built to resemble a wing, made with plywood airfoils covered with Dacron aircraft fabric. A foot behind the fabric are 28 T12 lamps on three switches. With all of the lights on on, the room is very bright. At night a camera can shoot at 1/60th of a second, ISO 400 at f2.8 038

The bridge was built to access the cupola which is accessed from a ladder in the middle of the bridge through a skylight that opens into the corner of the cupola.
