Dog Fence

We have an invisible fence, but Abby has gotten so old that she doesn't hear the warning beeps or she's too stubborn to care if she gets shocked.  One morning before school she wandered off an we couldn't find her.  She came home on her own and we learned from the neighbors that Adak often hangs out in the front yard when we are away.  We decided to put in a physical temporary fence that evening.  It has a simple gate now so I can get the mower in.

2026 American Rocketry Challenge Nationals

For the fourth year in a row an IHM Rocket Team qualified for the 2026 American Rocketry Challenge Nationals.  There were over 1100 teams competing this year and the top 100 nationals cut-off was shockingly low at 23.6, meaning 2 of the 3 qualifying flights needed to be within 8 feet of the target altitude (750 feet) and 1 second from the target time (36-39 seconds).  They made it into the second round in 13th place and ended up in 14th place overall.

We rented this Nissan for the trip.

Third Sprinter

I found a third Ocean Kayak Sprinter for a great price.  Annika has been paddling with Joan and me this summer.
