The top series of pictures show drops of milk splashing into coffee. Most exposures were in the 1/550th second to 1/1000 second range.
This picture was one of the first and the only one that showed the instant the milk hit the coffee.
Joan took over shooting and I dropped the milk from the eye dropper. She had better reflexes/timing than I had and got a lot of good "crown" pictures:
The series below was shot in "continuous" mode which shoots 30 frames a second in 640x480 resolution. All six pictures below are of the same drop; the last picture was exposed only 1/6 of a second after the first.
Another nice series.
We switched to dropping milked dyed with food coloring into plain milk. The milk quickly became colored. The milk is in a very tiny beer mug.
