the proceeds going to the
Roundtable. Currently they are being housed in the office of Dean
Smith. For the present
he will bring a different box to each of our next meetings.
Our 2007 theme is “Bring a Veteran”. Personally bring a veteran and his or her family with
you to our meetings
DUES for the period September 1, 2006 to August 31, 2007 ($10) are due. Current
paid membership is now 200.
VHP (Veterans History Project) Report: In 2006 the Roundtable sent 27 interviews or
memoirs to the Library of Congress for the VHP. The figures break down as follows:
12 Army including 1 WWI veteran, 11 Air Force/Air Corps, 3 Navy and 1 Marine. Five
of the 27 were Roundtable members. We are in desperate need of more Roundtable
volunteers to interview veterans. If you can only do one or two it would help.
Please bring interviews or memoirs to our meetings. The Roundtable will pay for their
shipment to Washington, DC. Thanks a million to the Roundtable members who have
participated so far.
