SPEAKER Ken Rogers: 45^th (Thunderbird) infantry division, was in the landing at Anzio

in WWII. His regiment was on the line for 511 days. He was captured by the Germans.

AUGUST MEETING SUMMARY: : Dr Bud Wentz, B-17 pilot who was shot down over

Belgium and rescued by civilians. On another occasion his B-17 was rammed by a

German fighter plane. Attendance was 75.

DUES: Dues for Sept 1 ’07 to August 31 ’08 are due. They have been raised to $15. We would have run out of money last spring except for the book sale and the in-house effort to prepare and send out the monthly meeting announcements.

GATHERING OF MUSTANGS & LEGENDS. F-51, P-40, P-63, P-47, P-38, ME-109, FW-190, & Spitfire aircraft will be at Rickenbacker Int’l Airport (Columbus) on Sep 27-30.

2007 THEME: “Bring a Veteran”. Personally bring a veteran and his or her family with you to our meetings.

VHP: (Veterans History Project) Report. Do you want to video tape your wartime experiences? Contact Jerri Donohue (440) 546 1207 to make arrangements.So far in 2007 she has sent to the Library of Congress interviews of 1 WAC, 2 Navy, 5 Army and 8 Air Corps. She has to complete the paperwork for 8 other interviews she conducted at the 5^th Armored Division reunion and the Ohio Convention of ex-POWS. If you know of other reunions in Ohio coming up please call Jerri so she can attend.
