If there's on thing I don't like about HONK! it would have to be the moral of the story, which I thought was: If you are ugly everyone will hate you, and if you are beautiful, everyone will love you. I've recently determined that there's a bit more depth to the moral than that; here's my newer, slightly less shallow version: If you are ugly everyone will hate you, and if you are beautiful, everyone will love you, but everyone is beautiful as long as they have nice hair, sharp clothes and lots of glitter. Okay, maybe that's not exactly less shallow, but does promise hope.
We had a great cast and crew picnic yesterday at Howe Road Park. I brought the latest incarnation of the bubble machine; it was a hit. There was: great food, games, awards, burials, wet-dirty-dogs and for those who stuck around long enough, a wonderful live chorus of ETC singers.
In addition to being a "farewell Honk!" party it was also a send off for our musical director, Carolyn Bagley. She is headed to NYC to write and perform music. Though we have only know Carolyn this summer, we can see why so many turned out to wish her well. She is a multi talented musician with an amazing singing voice who lead our huge cast to near perfection (well, almost). We were pleased to be under her direction and wish her nothing but success on The Great White Way.
