July 12 - Summit Lake at Hatcher's Pass
After our nap we took Dad up to Summit Lake at Hatcher's Pass. We didn't wonder to far or long so we could keep an eye on my father. I love the views above treeline. There's just no place like this anywhere near Ohio.

Bear spray... in the second floor guest room of my parent's home in mid Wasilla.

Somehow I, David Hall, didn't take any photos at Saturday night's reunion event at 49th State Brewing Company. That is with the exception of a couple documents Danny Moore produced. On Sunday there was a reunion picnic at Sand Lake Park; most of the pictures below were lifted from classmate's facebook posts.

So, I have been suffering from sciatica for over a year. An MRI reveled that I have a ruptured disk, the lowest one that meets the pelvis, on the right. The symptoms are the right side of my right leg tenses up and hurts like hell. from the hip socket to my calf. I can alleviate mostly through sitting, yoga and stretching. My pain progressively gets worse through walking and standing. I've done much less walking and standing over the past year. I didn't expect to be able to hike up mountains, but I figured we would try. I was pretty surprised that my pain level never got much past the very annoying level. We made it the 2 mile trail to the top of Hatch Peak, above Hatcher's Pass. It was pretty cold, windy and drizzle, but still great. The 360 view at 4811 feet was fantastic.
