I made this plaster sculpture in college and it's been with my parents for the past 30+ years. We'll see if it makes it home in one piece.

July 22 - Visits with Chris Van Alstyne, Kiva & Riven
Chris was one of my closest friends in high school, yet somehow we let more that two decades pass by without seeing each other in person. Joan and I met his lovely daughter and Husky Juneau. Chris has had an amazing career in the Army and providing disaster relief and civil rights to people in need through FEMA. Looking back at our teenage shenanigans; it's pretty amazing that we both turned into responsible adults. After catching up with Chris, we visited my niece Kiva and her spouse at their new home.

July 23 - Independence Mine Hike with Amy
On Tuesday Amy joined us for a foggy hike along the creek above Independence Mine. It was nice catching up with Amy and this area is my favorite in the Hatcher's Pass and Independence Mine Area.
