On Friday we viewed a dead otter, broke camp, took one more drive around Homer, and headed home. We stopped in Ninilchik and Summit Lake Lodge.

008 - It doesn't look like it, but the Homer Spit is actually five miles long. At high tide, the base is less than 100 yards wide.

036 - Brigitta fell asleep in the back seat of the van. Somehow, she managed to flip over and twist the seatbelt tightly around her waist. The more she struggled, the tighter the ratchet mechanism held. We were unaware that there was a problem until Svea asked her why she was crying. It took a few minutes to determine that she was stuck. When Svea questioned weather she could breath, I pulled over. It's disturbing that a seatbelt can tighten like this, with no possible way of release. I ended up cutting the belt at the end of the strap.
