Track Meet 4

Annika set a personal record in her last meet of the season. She dropped 9.3 seconds off of last week's time. Annika also had a personal record in the standing long jump and ran the second leg of the 4X100m.

Brigitta ran the 200m 30" hurdles for the first time. Her form was rough, but she had only practiced twice and ran a good race.

In the high jump she tied her 4' 6" PR and made good attempts at 4' 8" until she landed on the bar and was reminded that this event can be painful. When Brigitta began high jumping two years ago, she was the only girl high jumper IHM had on record in recent years. At this point IHM now has six girls in the high jump. It's nice for her to have company and even some friendly competition.

Brigitta jumped 12' 4" in the long jump, but her teammate and 8th grader Morgan blew away the record Brigitta broke last week. The new record is a very respectable 13' 10.5"

IHM 5K

Rich and I ran the IHM 5K on Saturday; we were three seconds slower than last year. At this rate by the time I turn 70 I'll be a minute slower than I am now; I can live with that. By default I won the male faculty division. Matthew had a great run and was way ahead of us. Svea, Brigitta and Annika ran together much of the race. Svea got third in her age division.
